Project Profile: +Click

Conceived by the research team at The University of Texas School of Public Health, +Click is a web-based interactive program that provides tailored skills training to HIV+ youth between the ages of 13-24. The intervention is delivered by health care providers in a clinic setting, and is focused on behaviors such as medication compliance, disclosure and sexual risk reduction.

+Click offers a variety of features for content tailoring and data collection. Users are required to fill out a brief questionnaire that collects data about several aspects of the user's HIV clinical status, current behavior and current attitudes. Data is collected via boolean controls, scales, multi-select controls, and open-ended text fields. Based on the user's responses, they are assigned a profile, and content throughout the intervention is tailored to this profile. Tailoring is accomplished via programmatic customization of menu options and modification of audio and on-screen text messages.

This intervention is currently undergoing evaluation at the Texas Children’s Hospital Immunology clinic.
